Winter of 2020, Save A Sample! launched a new program to continue with our recycling efforts - Save A Sample! for Students.
Save A Sample! for Students allows designers to recycle their samples during the pandemic.
We've designed Save A Sample! for Students to redirect professional level material samples away from landfill and gives them a second life in the hands of talented design students to use on their school projects. With support from Armstrong, Save A Sample! for Students partners with design firms throughout the United States and Canada to provide students with richer resources at not cost to design firms.
Please fill out this form to sign up and we will connect you with local design students who are excited to get your materials!
Design firms please follow the steps below to prepare your sample boxes and to register.
1. Find a banker (copy paper) box. Place the box in your office and alert your team to put any discontinued or unneeded samples in the box.
2. When the box is full (we will not accept boxes that exceed 20 lbs. or are over stuffed), register using the appropriate link below:

3. When we receive your registration, we will match you up with a local design student and create your shipping label(s) and email them to you for you to tape to your box(s). Current turnaround time is approximately 2 weeks.
4. Once you receive your shipping labels, you have three options to ship your sample box(s):
- If your firm already has a scheduled UPS pick up, you can add your sample box(s) to that pick up
- If your firm receives a UPS package, you can have the carrier take your sample box(s) at that time
- You can drop off your box(s) of samples at the closest UPS drop off location
*All boxes are to be shipped within 3 business days.
5. Put out another box for your team to fill again.
