Do I have to register each time I have boxes to donate?
Yes, please register each time you are looking to donate.
What materials can be donated?
Donations can include, but are not limited to:
-Carpet samples (loose samples
only 12" x 12" or smaller)
-Fabric samples (memo samples
only, no chain sets)
-Glass samples (smaller than 12" x 12")
-Tile samples (smaller than 12" x 12")
-Stone samples (smaller than 12" x 12")
-Metal samples (smaller than 12" x 12")
-Wood samples (smaller than 12" x 12")
-Laminate samples (smaller than 12" x 12")
Please DO NOT donate: Sweets catalogs, code books, binders, material boards (i.e. brick boards), or anything that could not be easily incorporated into a project.
Does Save A Sample! for Students (SASFS) provide boxes? What size are they? What is the maximum weight for each box? How long do I have to ship out my boxes?
SASFS does not provide shipping boxes. We request firms use copy paper sized boxes (banker boxes) for their materials.
The standard copy paper box (banker box) is 12 x 10 x 15 Inches.
Each box should not weigh more than 20 lbs.
Once you receive the shipping labels, you have 3 days to ship your boxes. Our students are notified that a shipment is on the way so please make sure to get your boxes shipped in a timely manner.
Can firms other than A&D firms donate materials?
Yes, manufacturers or representatives who wish to donate materials are welcome to participate in SASFS if they do one of the following:
- Make a donation to cover the shipping and administrative costs ($50 donation)
-"Pay it Forward" by prepaying for 10 design firms to donate materials ($250 donation. Design firms will be notified of your kind offering)
